Experience the Five Love Languages

Walk from station to station to experience 5 ways we are wired to love each other.

What:  Station-to-Station Walk and Potluck

When:  Friday, June 8 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Where:  New Life Church

What is your love language?  Please join us for this unique experience to find out.

We will be hosting a walking journey for couples themed around the Five Love Languages, a book by Dr. Gary Chapman.  This is an opportunity for couples to bond closer together and make time for one another.  Couples will experience the five different love languages with your “other half” while you visit each individual station.  After the walk is complete, join us for a potluck and group devotion and conversation.

This is an event you will not want to miss.  We hope to see you there!

Join us for four evenings of high energy fun for the whole family!

New Life Church is offering kids in first through sixth grades (for the upcoming fall 2012 school year) an awesome time. We want to give kids the chance to learn more about sports, discover character-building concepts modeled after Jesus and other Bible notables, and have a whole lot of fun.

At Mega Sports and More, kids can choose two events from the following choices:

Soccer                             Cheerleading

Basketball                      Arts/Crafts

Baseball                         Board Games

Ultimate Frisbee          Gardening

It doesn’t matter if they’ve played all their lives or just started yesterday, Mega Sports and More helps kids develop that skill in that area.  All sorts of fun drills, practice games and coaches instruction will get kids focused on the fundamentals that help build character traits that will guide them all their lives. Plus, Mega Sports and More creates a positive and encouraging environment that pumps up their confidence and assures them they are the image of the living God.

Between the several sports sessions, arts, and games, coaches guide the kids with songs, stories, and cool object lessons that help the character-building themes take hold in kids’ hearts.  And most importantly, kids will discover God’s great love for them.

At the New Life Class, we’ll talk about life-enhancing opportunities offered at New Life and how we become part of them.  These opportunities include our New I’s Welcome Teams, ACCESS Courses, Family Faith Formation on Sundays and many more.

 Many months ago when Scott was first diagnosed, many asked, “What can we do?”  The most important answer was, “pray.”  You have sustained Scott and many others through your generous prayers and our sacrificial worship time together.  Meals, house cleaning, tree felling, & leaf raking are but a few of the other ways we have responded.  Thanks to everyone.

 Now, we are asked to step in with some much needed help as medical expenses have mounted and bills are coming due.  So, we’re having a fund raiser.

 The suggested donation levels are: $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000 or any other sacrificial figure that works for you.

 Checks can be made out to either of the following:  For a tax deduction, write it to “The New Life Social Purpose Fund”. Or, checks can also be written to the “Scott Zahorsky Fund” which is at the Wisconsin Community Bank of Cottage Grove.  The checks will be deposited on Scott’s behalf.  The Zahorsky’s will have access to the funds as they need.

New Life in the ReCreation Center

This 6-week book study will help us become the women God created us to be.  From exploring the dreams we have for our lives to discovering the unique way we each shine to exchanging gifts with God, we will ride the wave of God’s dream for our lives.

Christina DiMari, the author, encourages us to discover new treasures that will brighten our lives and point us toward a path of living out our ultimate destiny.

This unique study was designed to follow SeaSide Escape, but you do NOT need to have attended any of SeaSide Escape to join us, so please do!  Feel free to bring a friend.

Journals will be available for a small donation.

This Study Begins June 14   9:00 -11:00 a.m.

As you’re doing your spring cleaning, realize that it’s never too early to start saving your items for the New Life Church Super Sale.

The sale will again be two days this year.  It will be held in New Life’s ReCreation Center.

Last year’s sale was a huge success and we are already generating lots of ideas for this year given our expanded space.

If you are interested in helping plan for the big event, please contact one of the chairpersons, Nancy Schmidt,  Paula & Erik Severson or Terri Beck-Engel, as we are currently recruiting for team leaders for various activities, such as set up, food, and welcome.  We will be having periodic meetings with the team leaders between now and the Super Sale.  Volunteer sign-up sheets will also be available in the upcoming months.

We will come together every few months to focus ourselves in prayer and worship of God.  We anticipate that the spiritual energy produced, as we honor and praise God, will be more than enough for us.  As followers of Jesus, we know that we have the incredible capacity to have the power go out of us as well.  Our desire is to give it away.
