Led by Laura McNeill, this yoga class will help you gain more focus, calm and joy.  Laura’s teaching style is infused with positive energy, honesty, and inspirational flow.  Students are taught to focus inward, listen and to develop trust for their bodies.  As we utilize our breath to move through physical poses, we allow ourselves to focus on the moment, clear away the clutter in our minds and bodies, and open up more space for God to move within us.  Laura believes that Yoga is for everyBODY and facilitates students to find their comfort level within each pose. What does it mean to be your parent’s caregiver as they begin to experience new needs?  At New Life, we are making this class available to Caregivers that we might not only learn, but grow together as a prayerful support network.

Among the topics we’ll be concerned with are:

• The Altering Roles Between Parent and Adult Child
• Talking with Your Parent about Their Need for Help
• Dementia –understanding the disease & caregiver tips
• De-mystifying parent resistance
• Explore Home Health, Community and Hospice options and services.
• Explore when and how to transition to Assisted Living or Nursing Home.
• How to not only survive but actually thrive through this transition – What’s God up to now?

This class will meet for 6 weeks and is led by Dianna Carlson.

At New Life in the Community Room

Ever want to know more about cultivating herbs in your garden, or in a container?  Looking for some friends to share your herb growing experiences with?  Join us for an informal question and answer session!  You’ll have a whole “herb growing support group” to kick start your culinary ambitions this spring!

Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family!  The more the merrier.  Informational handouts will be passed around, and a list of good websites about herbs.

 This is another time for us to come together that we might re-commit ourselves to praying with such vigor that the spiritual energy manifested is given to those who need it profoundly in these days.

 We will also receive ashes of humility to remind ourselves to whom it is we belong and from whom it is that we are empowered.

 An opportunity is also given that we might walk the indoor labyrinth together.

For centuries, being a man meant living a life of virtue and excellence.  Our focus will be on seven virtues of the masculine.  How do we remain the excellent men we are created to be?  Pastor Rob will facilitate the gatherings.  Gathering began January 14.

We’ll have some fun, enjoy the company of other men, and perhaps even plan a road trip.

God’s Girls Ministry

Do you know that God is WILD ABOUT YOU?   FOR REAL!

Through our love and faith in God, we can all do amazing things.

Join us for discussion time the first Sunday of each month:

We will meet to discuss a topic girls (nearing the end of 4th grade and up) can relate to.  Using a Bible verse, we will work together to see the situation and feelings from a new perspective so these times can help move us forward instead of feeling like they are holding us down.  Join us Sunday, May 5   11:45 a.m.

 Join us for our Activity Gathering:

In addition to our monthly discussion time, we also meet once a month for an activity. 

Join us on Saturday, May 18 at 9:00 a.m. We will meet at New Life Church then carpool to the Dane County Humane Society for a tour.  After the tour we will return to New Life Church for lunch and discussion.  Please bring a sack lunch and any items to donate.  The Dane County Humane Society has a wish list online at http://www.giveshelter.org/wish-list.html.  Permission slips and waivers are required to attend.

Please join us!  We encourage you to invite a friend.  Girl’s ages 10 (nearing end of 4th grade) and up are welcome.  You are not required to have participated in previous Girl’s ministry events, just come to the ones you can.  We hope to see you there!

Spirituality doesn’t have to be complicated, unavailable or set apart for only the holy heavyweights of the bible!  It’s really meant for each of us, especially in the midst of our everyday lives. This class seeks to provide you with essential tools for making a deep and personal connection with God.   It’s a creative, interactive, and practical hands-on course that encourages and equips us for the lifelong spiritual journey.  Discover along with others how all of life is spiritual and how we are called to live intentionally passionately within it.

 5:00 pm – Children and Family Worship

Be a part of the Nativity – the gift of Jesus

 7:00 pm – Candlelight Worship

Invite your friends and family and extended family to an evening of Children and Family Worship on Christmas Eve at 5:00 pm.  This is a night of wonder, a night of miracles, a night when we receive again the gift of Jesus for all time.  Our puppet friends will be with us as we hear again the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus.   Jesus Emmanuel – God with us has come!  A light that shines in the darkness dawned 2000 years ago and continues to shine in spirit through the tangible expression of our lives today.  Invite your family and friends to come and see this thing, which God has done.  We will sing carols in joy and celebrate with light while we participate together in the nativity, the birth of Jesus.  Let’s worship God on this special night.

Worship at 7:00 pm will be a celebration of joy and music as we hear the story of the birth of Jesus; a birthing that continues through us.  Invite your family to join us on this evening of worship bathed in candlelight to experience the miracle of Emmanuel, God with us, born of Mary in a stable long ago and born in us today.

There will be a time for friendship and conversation with refreshments following each worship opportunity.  Invite your family, friends and neighbors as we celebrate the miracle God gave us!

July 6-14, 2013

For our Youth Mission Trip 2013 we will be headed to Keansburg, New Jersey July 6-14.  This is a great way to serve others, serve God and have a great time all at the same time.  Interested adults, parents and students (those who will be in 9th grade in fall 2013 and up) are encouraged to contact the church office or register here to show your interest in participation in the trip.  It costs some money to attend the trip, but together we can do miracles, we don’t want the cost to keep you away.  Participation in fundraisers and asking for support from others are just a few of the ways you will gather funds and prayer for your trip.  We will be holding meetings with more information.  If you have further questions contact John or Mary Rauwolf at 846-9095.
